What is a Single Rider Line?
A single rider line is a separate line for an attraction for people who are enjoying Walt Disney World alone or who are willing to ride the attraction by themselves. It can be particularly useful when one member of a party wishes to ride and the rest do not, allowing them to quickly ride and rejoin their group. The tool allows Disney to have a ready supply of single riders who will fill in seats with other parties that would otherwise remain empty as a result of keeping parties together. While the experience is sometimes identical to the other lines, it usually bypasses preshows or other ride elements that occur after other lines merge but prior to boarding final vehicle. For example, the single rider line on Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance bypasses the transporter scene and begins at the interrogation line.
Does Every Ride At Walt Disney World Offer A Single Rider Line?
No. Most rides do not offer this option. It is offered primarily at popular rides that have vehicle configurations that would tend to leave empty seats.
Which Rides at Walt Disney World Offer A Single Rider Line?
As of today(January 5,2025) the following rides offer single rider:
- Star Wars: Rise Of the Resistance
- Millenium Falcon
- Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure
- Rock N Roller Coaster
- Expedition Everest
Test Track has offered as well, but is currently down for refurbishment. Rise Of The Resistance and Remy are recent additions to the list.
Is the Single Rider Line Worth It?
Absolutely! We have often seen waits exceeding an hour on the stand-by line and been on and off with single rider in under 10 minutes. Though you may miss some or all of the pre-show, it sure beats spending your day waiting in line.
For Ride of the Resistance, the single rider line takes you around the theming, through a hallway that hardly looks like a spaceport or spaceship, and deposits you past the first part of the action. That can be a negative or a positive. But after that, you get the same experience.
For Remy, there is no extensive pre-show, so there is nothing to miss. The Rock N Roller Coaster pre-show isn’t really that thrilling, maybe the Muppets one will be. For Millenium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run, much of the time, you get stuck in the less desirable positions of Engineer, as opposed to pilot, but it depends on who they pair you with.
