Great news for fans of Star Wars and quick access to popular attractions! Disney’s Hollywood Studios has introduced a single rider line for the blockbuster attraction Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. While this option is a great way to skip the often-lengthy standby queue, it does come with a unique trade-off. We had seen conflicting accounts online as to the availability of single rider, but experienced it ourselves this morning.
How It Works
Single riders bypass significant portions of the immersive pre-show experience. Instead of boarding the transport ship that sets the stage for your journey, single riders enter the attraction directly at the First Order interrogation scene. This skips key narrative elements, like your “capture” and arrival at the Star Destroyer, which are essential to the ride’s storytelling flow.
What It Means for the Experience
While the single rider line drastically reduces wait times, it does disrupt the cohesive story Rise of the Resistance is known for. The ride was designed to immerse you fully in a Star Wars adventure, and skipping the transport sequence means missing out on pivotal moments that build tension and set the stakes.
If you’re short on time or have already experienced the attraction in its entirety, the single rider line is an excellent option. But for first-timers or those who value the story-driven elements, waiting in the main queue may still be worth it to experience Rise of the Resistance as it was designed.
We also noted that much of the attraction was in B-Mode, with key elements not running as designed and the interrogation scene was generally less immersive. We suspect this is all in an effort to maximize throughput on an ambitious attraction that has been plagued by downtime.
As always, may the Force be with you—whether you choose speed or full immersion!
