A byproduct of over half a century of NASA’s program is a dizzying array of abandoned and decommissioned sites. Many of these have been left to the elements. By their nature they tend to be in out of the way places, and they tell a story of hope, long gone, in their desolation.
Roland Miller has spent decades photographing these sites, and is now at work on a book featuring his stunning work. The book, to be titled Abandoned In Place, will be published next August thanks to a successful recent Kickstarter campaign.
We look forward to seeing the finished work, which will show the poignant aftermath of an age of hope as we head into a new era of space exploration, this time by private companies helmed by enthusiasts.
